The Santa Clara Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction was chartered in 1965.  In it’s many years of serving the construction industry, it has greatly contributed to the success of women in the industry.  Some of the projects worked on have been:

        *Central County Occupation Center

        *NAWIC Education Foundation Block Kids competition (National Award Winner in 1998)

         *NEF Construction Industry Technician classes (CIT)

         *June Simmons Scholarship Awards

         *MAGIC (Mentor a Girl in Construction) Camp

         *NEF CAD design competitions

         *Habitat for Humanity fund raisers

         *InnVision and Home Safe involvement

         *Blue Print reading classes

         *Monthly educational offerings

         *Partnering agreements with Santa Clara County Builder’s Exchange,  Santa Clara chapter of CFMA (Construction Financial Manager’s Association), BOMA (Business Owners and Manager’s Association) and Santa Clara Valley Contractor’s Association

The NAWIC Objective

To unite for their mutual benefit women who are actively employed in the various phases of the construction industry;

To promote cooperation, fellowship and a better understanding among the members of the association;

To promote education and contribute to the betterment of the construction industry;

To encourage women to pursue and establish their careers in the construction industry;

To provide members an awareness of the legislative process and legislation as it relates to the construction industry.
